Long overdue update

Well here comes a long story.

Put the exhaust in, fixed most of the vacuum leaks (i still need an AFM boot)

We attempted to fire it up, it was not getting any power to the coil. After 10 hours of wire trace i found that it was the ignition module wiring, the previous owner messed with it and it was wrong.

Ended up getting 12.6v to the coil, and got the car to start. It ran very bad, it sounded like it was firing on 3cylinders. Check out the video.

Anyways, after checking for good compression, fuel it had to be spark. Every plug was replaced and eventually gapped, all of the wires were checked, everything was secure. It still sounded like shit!

Opened up the distributor and found out that the reluctor inside it was FUCKED, it was all chewed up. $120 got me a new distributor and it fired right up, but eventually started to run poorly again... Annoying.

After checking everything over again i decided to buy a new cap and rotor (which i should have done in the first place, but i'm an idiot.

It ended up like this video.

After checking every injector clip over multiple times, cleaning corrosion off of everything it still would not idle properly, it was driving me insane.

But eventually i fixed it, and it's embarassing what it was.

There are two harness' to the thermostat housing, both of them were loose. I took my extra (cut wiring harness) and took off the injector hold down clips, and put it on the thermostat plastic harness (they injector clips work MUCH better, they are stronger too)

And what do you know, it fixed all of my troubles.  Sorry about the dark video, but this is how late it was when i finally fixed the idle

Its got a decent knock in the #5 cylinder, i will be getting the valves adjusted as soon as the gasket comes in.

Moving on:  I started the body work on the car, its just alot of bondo + sanding + filler putty + primer so im just going to post some pictures.
